The first hardcover edition of Zoology has the number 508 on the spine of the book and the dustjacket. © Copyright 1958 by Simon & Schuster, Inc. and Artists and Writers Press, Inc. Designed and produced by The Sandpiper Press and Artists and Writers Press, Inc. Printed in the U.S.A. by Western Printing and Lithographing Company. The cover lists this book as a Golden Science Guide. I found no printing code for this edition. It features the animal decorated endpapers. No Golden Press edition exists that I'm aware of. The earliest Golden Press edition of Zoology is a stated seventh printing, 1962. The art in the middle of the back cover has been replaced with text. Cover price is still $1.00. The letter G is on page 160. (not shown)

The number changed on Zoology to 24408 with the ninth printing. Cover price is still $1.00. Published by Golden Press. My copy has the letter J on page 160. (not shown)

Next is the NASC version. This book appears to be a promotional item published for the North American School Of Conservation. It has the NASC symbol on the spine. Spine also states Reference Library instead of Golden Press. The inside front cover has a letter from Dr. Eugene Auerbach. Inside back cover has student success stories. The back cover has a blurb about the school. Same front cover as previous versions. Printing code shows OPQRST on page 160. (not shown)

Zoology went through one cover change. States on the copyright page: New Cover 1973. Sticker cover price is $1.95. Published by Golden Press. My copy has the letter U on the last page. (image #2)

The French version of Zoology is titled Règne animal. © copyright 1958 by Golden Press Inc., New-York. Publié par E.G.I., Paris. From the last page: Imprimé en Italie. The contents are virtually identical to the American version. The cover, while appearing to be the same as the American version, is not. It is a very close copy. Text in French. (image #3)

A British version of Zoology is shown next. The contents are virtually identical to the American version. Published by Paul Hamlyn Ltd. by arrangement with Golden Press, Inc. © 1958 Golden Press, Inc. Printed in Italy by Arnold Mondadori Editore - Verona. My copy is a stated second Impression 1965.

The German version of Zoology is titled Tierkunde. And two cover versions exist. The first shown has the same cover as the American version. The next one shown has a completely new cover. Number 5 in the series. The copyright information for both books is as follows: © 1958 by Golden Press Inc., New York. Alle deutschen Rechte vorbehalten © Delphin Verlag, Stuttgart und Zürich. Photosatz: Brandstetter, Wiesbaden. Printed in Italy by O.G.A. Mondadori, Verona. The red bordered version states 5. Auflage 1974 on the copyright page. Which means it is a fifth printing.

Three versions of Zoology exist in a large (5 ¼ by 7 ¾ inch) hardcover. Image #1 has the number 63503 on the back cover. Image #2 has the number 0-307-63503-1 on the back cover. A similar version of image #2 also exists in a large hardcover. The number on the spine is 28101.

No revised edition exists. Out of print.
